HOW BAYANI IS PRODUCED: SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES BEHIND ITS MAKING
Similar to the tedious processes that mark the production of an episode, Bayani takes shape after a series of coordinative meetings and planning sessions. The systems flow follows that of Sine'skwela, except that, by virtue of its subject material, history-focused institutions like the Kamalaysayan and the University of the Philippines are consulted.
- PRE-PRODUCTION
- Selecting and focusing on hero to be featured
- Research on hero's background
- Checking and validation of research
- Distribution of assignments and research papers to writers
- Writers draft storyline
- Presentation to the Creative Committee (membership: representative from DECS, Education Consultant, Operations Manager, History Consultant, Director, Headwriter, Research Department)
- If storyline is approved, first draft of script is written. If not, storyline is revised according to comments of Creative Committee.
- Presentation of script to Creative Committee (script is revised until finally approved)
- Proceed to Production for Taping
- PRODUCTION
- Pre-production meeting: discussion and finalization of the following:
- Set design
- Costume design and execution/sourcing
- Talents
- Props
- Director
- Location hunting
- Taping proper
- POST PRODUCTION
- Editing
- Shooting of (additional) video inserts
- Scoring
- Preview of Creative Committee (revisions are made if necessary)
- Preview by Program Evaluation Committee (membership: Producer, all Executive Producers, Directors, Operations Manager, Research Department representative, Logistics Department, all Headwriters)
(revisions are made if necessary based on comments of Program Evaluation Committee)
- Airing and publicity and promotions, choice episodes are anthologized for distribution in VHS tape format
